Fidelity

Dear Habibis.

Dear family and friends,

God told me to tell you to sell your houses, pack your bags, and move to Lebanon. See ya soon then! ;)

Tonight was ladies night. So of course we went out for dessert for dinner, a regular occurance. But probably won’t be any longer because I am feeling quite sick now. haha somewhere between our 3 hour conversation and taxi ride home I had some thoughts… (weird I know) lol anyway..read slowly.

Do you ever have those moments when you realize you’ve discovered something is so TRUE, something that you completely believe in and are passionate about, but didn’t really recognize that you believe in it or recognize how powerful it is until right then?!  (that was a really long question/statement most likely full of grammatical errors, sorry bout it. I hope you know what I mean!) Don’t worry…I will explain.

Here is the basis of my thought process…where it started…

“THERE IS NOTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD THAT MATTERS BUT KNOWING JESUS CHRIST.”

okay. As a follower of Christ, I first want to establish that I know I cannot truly follow Christ without the help of God Himself. I forget this truth all the time. And as a follower of Christ, this (statement above in caps) should be the most obvious thing about what I believe. And I can tell you this all day every day. The thing is, I don’t always act like it. Matter of fact, if I’m being honest, I rarely act like it and I often forget it. Right now, I am living in Lebanon. I am about 10,000 miles away from most of you. One of the first things I thought when I got here was, “Whoa, this world is big and God is huge.” When I think about the future and what I am going to do post Lebanon, my mind races. How can I possibly do anything but tell the world who Jesus is. How can I leave this place and move on with my life like it was just a year of my life. (Please don’t get me wrong on this at any point during this post, I know that God calls people to do different things, to stay in the US, to have secular jobs, to be missional in whatever situation you are in. I just want to be really real with my thoughts for a sec).

I have read books about what it means to live radically, for example Francis Chan’s Crazy Love. And its amazing how some authors can do such a great job of getting you pumped up to live radically! But you’ll never know how crazy and freeing it is to live radically until you actually live radically!

PLEASE Do not live your life saying that you want to sell your house and everything you own to move to another country or what have you. actually DO IT. We really do only have 1 life to live on earth. Live like nothing else matters besides knowing Jesus. There are countless numbers of people in the world who have never heard the name of Jesus. NOTHING gets me like that statement! I cannot stress enough that “the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” There are people here serving the Lord who take on what 5 people should. We need you. I don’t care how old you are, how little of money you have, how much money you have, fill in the blank. It’s never too late, its never the wrong time, to live radically, to trust God with something huge, like your entire life. HE will bless you beyond your imagination. Trust me, I’m experiencing it. He is so faithful. He loves us so much. I don’t deserve the life that He has given me, I don’t deserve the fullness of life I am experiencing. But He calls me worthy. He calls you worthy. Give in to Him.

“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” Matthew 10:39

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the FULL.” John 10:10

Amen.
