Who will tell them?
I am going on Stint to Lebanon.
I leave Sept 1 and will be gone until summer of 2011.
A lot of people have asked the question, “What do you expect God to do while you
are there?” Allow me to answer…
First of all I expect to be completely rocked and transformed by Him.
One way God confirmed His calling for me to go to Lebanon through the Word
was in Hosea 2:14-16 which says this, “Therefore I am now going to allure her; I
will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. There I will give back her
vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will sing
as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. “In that day,”
declares the Lord, “you will call me ‘my husband’; you will no longer call me ‘my
master’.”
I know that God will totally change my life in Lebanon. I desire to know
what it means to see the Lord as my husband. Like Isaiah 54:5 says: “For your Maker is your husband—the LORD Almighty is his name—the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.”
I also can’t wait to become a family with my team. When God brings His people together to do ministry it is something that is so beautifully ordained. I am excited to see what I learn from them and how I can encourage them and build them up. I admire them already. I expect the Lord to do great and powerful things in His Name. I expect to see the Spirit move and call my team and me to do miracles in the Name
of Jesus Christ! I expect to see a spiritual awakening in the hearts of Muslims. I
expect the Spirit to draw out the lies within the religion and beliefs and reveal truth. I expect to see captives set free! I expect to see souls won and disciples built. I expect
to first and foremost LOVE the people of Lebanon and my team . And I know that
I can only do that through Christ and through the perfect example of Love that He
set. The verse I will be meditating on frequently this summer will be Isaiah 61:1
which says this, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed
me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”
this gets me fired up! ah yes!
Some more Scripture that has been laid before me concerning my time in Lebanon
is Psalm 29:
“Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty ones, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe
to the Lord the glory due His name: worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness.
The voice of the Lord is over the waters; The voice of the Lord thunders over the
mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of
Lebanon. He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox. The voice
of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning. The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
The Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and
strips the forests bare. And in His temple all cry, “Glory!” The Lord sits enthroned over
the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. The Lord gives strength to His people; The Lord blesses His people with peace. ” This passage is what I expect to see
happen in Lebanon. Most of all I expect to see God’s glory revealed and proclaimed!
Praise God for He goes before us. Deuteronomy 1:30
